What is Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery?

Dr. Scheid graduated with honors from John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH, where he received the Presidential Scholarship for Academic Achievement.He then attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, graduating with honors as one of the top five students in a class of more than 230 graduates. He was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha and Hobart Amory Hare Medical Societies.
Dr. Scheid remained at Jefferson Hospital for his internship in general surgery and completed his residency in neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Jefferson Hospital for Neurosciences. He then spent several years training at the Delaware Valley Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center, a national center of excellence for the treatment of spinal disorders, where he perfected techniques in spinal surgery and had the unique opportunity to learn from world-class neurosurgical and orthopedic spine surgeons.
